Recently I’ve come across a situation with a few co-workers who can’t seem to print from Google Chrome the way they always have in the past.
Clicking ‘print’ seemingly does nothing.
In most of these cases, the issue can be pinpointed to the printing settings menu that pops up when you click ‘print.’

You’re probably familiar with the sight above. The print menu that appears in Google Chrome should look like the image above.
On the right side, notice the top dropdown menu labeled ‘Destination.’ This tells your computer where to send the file. My settings above are set to send my file to my office printer labeled RICOH MP C3504.
However, if you click the dropdown you’ll see more options.

As you can see, one of my options is ‘Save as PDF.’ If that were selected instead of RICOH, the page I’m trying to print would be saved to my computer as a PDF rather than printing.
If you are running into a problem when you are trying to print, the first thing you should check is the destination listed in the print settings.
It’s a small fix that can save you a lot of headache if you catch it right away.
If your printer is not showing in the options drop-down, it needs to be added to your computer’s printer settings. I’ll be posting a short walkthrough on how to do this next.
